Privacy Policy - Scramble

1. Overview

Scramble ("we," "us," "our," or "the App"), operated by Meyers Digital Labs, LLC, provides a local encryption utility. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information:

Google Sign-In Data: If you authenticate, we collect your display name, email address, and Google UID provided by Google and Firebase Authentication.
User ID: A unique Firebase UID used to associate your credit balance and saved passcodes with your account.

Usage & Transaction Data:

Activity Stats: We track the total number of messages scrambled and decoded to manage your credit usage.
Purchases: Record of credit purchases via Google Play Billing (Product ID, purchase token, and amount).
Saved Content: Passcodes and nicknames you explicitly choose to save to our cloud database.

Analytics (Firebase/GA4):

Event Logging: We log app-specific events such as when a message is scrambled, when a purchase is made, and when a user signs in.
Technical Info: Device model, OS version, and app version.

3. The "Zero-Knowledge" Encryption Principle

Your secrets are private. All encryption and decryption of your messages happens locally on your device.

We never transmit the content of your secret messages to our servers.
We never store your raw secret messages.
If you choose to "Save a Passcode," that passcode is stored in our database so you can access it on other devices; however, we do not know the context of the messages it unlocks.

4. How We Use Your Information

To manage your credit balance and facilitate in-app purchases.
To sync your saved passcodes across your devices.
To improve Scramble through anonymized analytics (Firebase Analytics).
To verify your identity for secure account access.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following industry-standard providers:

Google Firebase: For Authentication, Cloud Firestore (database), and Analytics.
Google Play Billing: To process all financial transactions. We do not store your credit card details; these are handled entirely by Google.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Permanent Deletion: You may delete your account at any time within the App settings. Please note that account deletion is permanent and irreversible. It will immediately erase:

Your Google UID and profile link.
All saved passcodes and nicknames.
All remaining credit balances (non-refundable).
All usage statistics.

7. Age Restrictions

Scramble is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
